BENEFITS
Shrub type plant with improved form and self-supporting
habit when mature compared to other varieties of
this species. Generally trouble-free and long-lived.
Attractive fluffy seed heads.
BLOOM SEASON & HABIT
Vivid spikes of fragrant dark blue tubular flowers
rise above bushy mounds of deep green foliage in
midsummer to early fall. Deciduous, self-supporting
shrub when mature.

USE
Superb specimen plant for middle of beds and borders
or as a background to shorter perennials. Attractive
seed heads. Combines well with Astilbe (try Astilbe 'Elizabeth Bloom'), Torch Lily (try Kniphofia 'Shining
Sceptre') and Spike Speedwell (Veronica).
SIZE
30" to 36" tall by 36" wide. Use 2
plants per square yard.
CULTURE
Prefers average well-drained soils. Will flower in
partial shade but habit will tend to sprawl. Drought
tolerant once established. Cut back to 6" above
soil in spring when new growth begins at the base.
