BENEFITS
'Alan Bloom' was named by Adrian Bloom to commemorate
the 85th birthday of his father, the patriarch
and founder of the famous Blooms of Bressingham
nursery in England. Its attributes include the
heat and cold tolerance typical of the species.
However, Adrian selected this particular cultivar
for its more compact foliage and habit, and for
its large, bright pink flowers, with moderate magenta
tendencies. The flowers are produced more abundantly
and are significantly larger than those of the
unimproved species.
BLOOM SEASON & HABIT
Bright pink flowers appear from early to late summer.
The attractive, dark-green foliage forms luxuriant,
spreading mounds. The deeply cut leaves turn a
rich red in fall.
